Sunday Lecture (in Dutch)
Every first Sunday of the month
During the Sunday Lecture, we dive deeper into the historical and art historical stories accompanying the collection. On 3 March, Rembrandt's Four Senses will take center stage. Together with curator of the Rembrandt House Nathalie Maciesza, we delve deeper into the characterizations of Rembrandt. Curator of Ancient Art Janneke van Asperen takes a closer look at these four early works by Rembrandt and places them in Leiden's art history. What do we see in the works of Rembrandt's spheres of influence in Leiden, such as his teacher Jacob Isaacz. van Swanenburg, or contemporary Jan Lievens?
