Lakenhal Late & Museum Night
Come to the museum every second Friday of the month between work and the pub for a hefty dose of inspiration and knowledge! During Lakenhal Late, visit our exhibitions between 19.00 and 22.00 and enjoy an in-depth programme of lectures, flash tours, workshops, performances, and more. Keep an eye on the website for our current programme.

There will be no Lakenhal Late in June, but there will be the 15th edition of the Leiden Museum Night! Which will take place on the 3rd of June. During Museum Night, the entire museum will be open, and you can take part in all kinds of activities, with the overarching theme of 'Inside Out'. More information about the programme and ticket sales will follow soon.
Lecture series
In preparation of the exhibition, we joined forces with various experts for an extensive study of David Bailly and his work. In this series of lectures, which we are organising in collaboration with Studium Generale, these experts will take you through the latest insights and questions about this exceptional painter from Leiden.

Audio tour
During your exhibition visit, you will discover all about David Bailly and his work with the free audio tour, which you can listen to on your own phone with the Lakenhal app (download for free in the App Store or Play Store). You will learn everything about the most important discoveries made as well as the new issues that arose from scientific research.

With a bag full of research tools in hand, you will discover all the secrets of 17th-century David Bailly with the whole family. What did make him such an extraordinary artist? After your visit, you'll know exactly!

Every Sunday between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m., you can become an artist yourself in our Open Studio during a free walk-in workshop. Inspired by Bailly's work, this spring you will create your own colourful monoprint using gelly plates. Join us and discover your creative talent!
More infoFree guided tours
Every Saturday and Sunday you can join a free entry tour of the exhibition at 2 p.m., led by one of our enthusiastic and knowledgeable tour guides. There is room for up to 15 people each round. Registration is not necessary, just come to the information desk in the Achterplaats just before the start to see if there is a place available. On Sunday May 14 we will offer a free tour in Dutch Sign Language.
