Spot your own 'Verster'
Between 12 April and 24 August
Spot your own 'Verster' and use the city as an outdoor studio.
Leiden painter Floris Verster put everyday flowers in the spotlight. He painted them in phases of growth, flowering and decay. Always against a calm and often dark background.
Get inspired by Verster and get to work yourself with the special map available free at the museum. In your garden, the city park, or between the paving stones, look for a plant or a flower. Place the card (available for free at Museum De Lakenhal), with the dark side facing forward, behind one flower or plant stem, isolating it, and photograph this flower.
