Livestream of duo lecture Claudy Jongstra & Professor Ann-Sophie Lehmann
Thursday 5 November from 3 p.m. to 4.30 p.m.
Missed it? You can watch the lecture here.
To celebrate the Claudy Jongstra exhibition, the Department of Art History at Leiden University, in collaboration with Museum De Lakenhal, is organising a special duo lecture by Professor Ann-Sophie Lehmann and artist Claudy Jongstra on Thursday 5 November. You can attend this lecture, which will be spoken in English, free of charge via a livestream.
The monumental works of Claudy Jongstra seem to be painted with wool. Thanks to their size, they are, on the one hand, overwhelming and, on the other hand, they create an atmosphere of intimacy and connectedness. In this duo lecture, artist Claudy Jongstra talks about her work. In addition, Professor Ann-Sophie Lehmann, associated with the University of Groningen, investigates the role of materiality in the meaning of Jongstra’s work.
